Enobaria
Spoiler-light.
Snapshot: The female victor of District 2 — a cold, predatory Career whose very smile is a weapon.
Role in the story
Enobaria is one of the Career-trained victors in the Quell, and a standing threat to Katniss's alliance from the moment the tributes assemble. She belongs to the group of victors who treat the arena as their element, and she is exactly as dangerous as her reputation promises.
Personality
Cold, confident, and openly predatory. Enobaria carries herself like a fighter who has never doubted her own lethality. There is nothing reluctant about her — where other victors dread the Quell, she is at home in it.
What they want
To win — to return to the arena that made her and prove, again, that she belongs at the top of it.
What they fear or hide
Enobaria shows little fear and hides little of her menace; intimidation is part of her arsenal. What she conceals, if anything, is whatever the Career's confidence is built to cover.
Key relationships
- Brutus — Her District 2 counterpart and fellow Career victor in the Quell.
How to recognize them on the page
A fit, athletic woman in her late twenties or thirties, hard-muscled and powerful, with dark hair and a striking, severe face. Her unmistakable feature is her teeth: after a notorious kill she had them surgically sharpened into points like fangs and inlaid with gold, so that her smile itself reads as a threat.

Discussion questions
- Enobaria turned her own teeth into a weapon and a brand. What does that say about how District 2 shapes its victors?
- She welcomes the Quell while others dread it. How does her ease unsettle the story's moral picture of the victors?
- The book gives her almost no inner life. Is that a flaw, or a deliberate choice about how Katniss sees a Career?
- Enobaria is a victim of the Games who became their instrument. Does the book let us hold both of those at once?
